Gallery on the Lane
Through photographic story telling, Raphaela Rosella and Kelly McIlvenny seek to share their experiences with motherhood. Rapheala looking to communicate the complex young lives of mothers in her hometown, in collaboration with young mothers from Indigenous and/or disadvantaged backgrounds from her neighbourhood or local area. While Kelly seeks to document the challenges and issues facing pregnant women in the developing country Nepal. Both photographers open this exhibition as a forum of discussion to talk about motherhood and humanity. Believing that life is neither black or white, but shown in beautiful colour as detailed and complex as the subjects themselves.
The exhibit runs from Friday 1 June – Saturday 23 June 2012
